An 18-month-old girl fell into a swimming pool Tuesday after getting out of her home through a doggie door.
She lives in the 3700 block of West Kings Avenue, was in the backyard pool for just a few seconds before her mother spotted her, said Division Chief Bob Khan, a spokesman for the Phoenix Fire Department.
She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, but her condition was not believed to be life-threatening, Khan said.
Khan said the incident has marked the second time this year that a toddler had escaped drowning after getting outside through a doggie door.
